Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Khowai popularly known as Divyodaya Krishi Vigyan Kendra is a district level Farm Science Centre established in the year 1979 in an area of 43.46 ha. of land under the affiliation of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR),New Delhi at Chebri village of Khowai district of Tripura. This KVK is under the host organization Sri Ramakrishna Seva Kendra (SRSK), Kolkata.
KVK, Khowai is a Model,Hi-Tech, one and only ISO certified KVK of North East India and Zonal Award winning KVK which is working for the farming community since 1979. This Krishi Vigyan Kendra is about 65 km from the state capital Agartala and 8 km from the district head quarter Khowai. The aim of the KVK is to reduce the time lag between generation of technology at the research institutions and its transfer to the farmer’s field to increase the production, productivity of farm produce and as well as income from the agriculture and allied sectors. The objective of the KVK is to promptly demonstrate the latest agricultural technologies to the farmer’s field with a view to reduce the gap between the technology dissemination and its wider adoption to upgrade the livelihood pattern of the farmers.
